Subseries 4: Parallel events
Scope and Contents
This subseries contains records from events related to the annual Color It Orange exhibition. The Imagination Celebration, created by the Kennedy Center Education Department’s Programs for Children and Youth in 1977, chose 25 regions in the nation each year to host special youth events. In 1986, Orange County was chosen as one venue, and CIO was combined with other local youth art events to form part of the programming. That same year, CIO partnered with the school prefecture in Chiba, Japan, to exchange student art pieces for display. CIO included 35 art pieces from Japanese students during the Imagination Celebration. Youth events for Imagination Celebration continue to take place in Orange County every year. This subseries contains programs; art release forms; inventories; receipts; correspondence;certificates of participation; publications; and miscellaneous ephemera from Imagination Celebration and Chiba art exchange.
